This has been a Christmas to remember. The three grandchildren (Sophia, Griffin and Eric) have managed to wring our hearts with moments of pure bliss.
Every day has been a mix of group activities and individuals enjoying their inner-most desires. And food. We manage to limp along and feast constantly in a crippled kitchen.
Our Christmas Eve party was a huge success with all sorts of people dropping by and enjoying the booze, sushi and hilarity. Christmas day was the bomb. All day long perfection.
Christmas morning was a jumble of presents, happy children and champagne. Christmas evening was the best tenderloin on earth and a happy roomful of adults. Steve and Darr came for dinner and stayed to enjoy the after-glow.
Today we went ice skating, me, Darrin, Kaye, Eric, Griffin and Sophia. I was the Sherpa. I haul coats, purses and camers...and take pictures. Everybody but Sophia could skate. Well, that was at the START of the day. Midway through their session I called her parents and told them to find a coach. The girl is an ice princess.
We're home tonight. D & K have gone to yoga, the Grebens are napping, Griff is playing a Wii game, Sophia is in princess regalia and touring her universe while robbing my tree of ornaments that strike her fancy. Eric made martinis and he and I have been solving the world's problems. We're doing Zen Sushi again (because it is so damn good) and we'll probably have another Wii bowling tournament. That shit is crack. What a device. Winner winner winner and now Ger wants one.
Tomorrow the plan is to bowl and shop. Or is it shop and bowl? Who cares?
