Here you go Pro-Lifers. Chew on this: "If the fetus you save is born gay, will you continue to fight for its rights?"

Like most people who abort for any number of defects, being gay is just one more.

I think you didn't really think out your 'gotcha' all that well here. The majority of Americans believe being gay is an abnormality. If this were not the case, then most states that have voted on the gay rights issue and it would be passing, would it not?

So far, every state has stricken down gay 'rights' by overwhelming majorities - so, one can assume that most Americans believe it to be a defect and your argument pretty much falls apart.

This is why activists judges have to go around the laws; because the people will not vote this into law themselves.

The gay groups do not want the gay gene to be located, if it even exists. Because a person's 'choice' to abort a gay fetus is still their right. Right?

    @Anne -

Are you suggesting homesexuality is not an abnormality? On what basis? If it is not an abnormality does that make it "normality"? If it is a "normal" condition why isn't it more prominent and balanced in the population (like gender)? Has natural selection led to a rise in homosexuality? Would it promote the survival of the species?

Also, where are you getting evidence that the majority of Americans believe being gay is an abnormality?

Homosexuality is a genetic dead end, so no, it is not considered normal by most people.

But the OPs assumption is that pro lifers wont 'save' a gay fetus. First of all, its a child .. a baby. And if science ever does find a gay gene, I wonder if the OP will stand behind any woman's right to choose to abort that child. Reading her statements here, it would seem unlikely.

And my evidence of the majority of Americans being against gay rights is right there on Google.. go research just how many states have managed to pass that legislation. Exactly none to date. And its not even close in any state; most states strike it down with 70 and sometimes 80% votes against those rights.

That's a statistic and a fact. Look it up.

    there ya go.. from NPR.

Now, back to the OPs statement. Would she support a woman's right to abort her fetus if it was gay?

Again, I doubt she would support the mother's rights.

Interesting that Julianne and Emily think people are offended. I dont see any offended responses. Just a challenge to Emily to state that she would support a mother's right to abort a gay child.

Obviously, its a thought that never has entered into her mind thus far.

See how left wing sound bites sound kinda nutty?

Um, Anne, she didn't say that she would or would not support a mother's right to abort a gay child. See how right wing conservatives can read things that aren't there?

    Morgan? Yes. She did.

Here's the point you and the other ladies dont seem to be getting just yet; Emily would never, under any circumstances support a woman having an abortion over a gay baby.

But if the woman merely didnt feel it was the right time in her life? Well, Emily would support that in a hearbeat.

Do you see the bigoted hypocricy at work here? I have followed this blog intermitently for the past few months to find this woman, Emily, is very left wing and quite happy to bloviate about it here. But challenge her? Nobody apparently ever does that here or in her life. The mere fact that she thinks its hilarious to call random people assholes speaks volumes.

I realize Emily never backs up any of her insipid opinions - but for once I thought I would challenge her to do so. I see she wasnt up to dragging herself out of her Hollywood adoring stupor to engage her brain after she threw out the first little piece of red meat.

Ah well, such is life. I knew Emily wouldnt like playing in this particular sandbox. It's not 'hip' or 'cool' to actually have to back up an argument one makes. It's hipper to have all your bobbleheaded friends just agree and she can remain safe in her little leftie bubble.

Too bad Emily. I thought you might stretch yourself there for a minute.

Anne, you are missing the point. Freedom of speech, remember that? It's Emily's blog and she is free to post and comment on any tidbit she finds interesting. If you don't agree argue away but do so tastefully. Right wing, left wing, can't you all find a way to compromise? Thanks for leaving us independents out of it though:)
