I took a picture of my parent's Mah Jong set one day because I love it so much. I never tire of opening the drawers and running my fingers over all of the little tiles.
Then I found myself photographing everything else I love here in their house. There are many many things, of course, but here are the tops.
Anytime I come to my their house, I pick up this antique lipstick case and open it and marvel at its perfectness.
The key below hangs in the house. It's a key to a safe deposit box at the London Marriott. My parents took my sister and me to Ireland and London one year. My mom put her valuables in a safe deposit box. When it was time to check out, she couldn't find the key. There was major drama about it and I remember my sister and I being sent to scour the streets of London for this key. No luck. It was $250 to drill open the box and Mom and Dad had to fork over the cash. My Dad was not happy. At all. My mom found the key in a random pocket of her purse when we landed in Denver. Yes, my Dad was still pissed the whole flight home. My mom had the key framed and wrote on the back "This is the key to my heart".
I can't remember the history of this picture, but I love it. I love the curls and the detail. It's another thing I always find myself standing in front of and staring.
This is my parents on their wedding day. It speaks for itself and looking at it never gets old. It still leaves me a little breathless and hopeful. Aren't they beautiful? It makes me want to go back in time and tell this lovely couple how lucky they are to have found each other and how great their life will be!
