A place of disorder and randomness, otherwise known as my life

We met Meg and Mia at the park last week for a picnic and some playing.

Finn is so taken with Mia that every time they see each other it's like this crazy reunion. He yells "MIA!" or lately he has adopted Meg and V's pet name "The Meez." (eg. "Mom, am I going to see The Meez today? Does The Meez know I'm going to school?")

I love that he loves her so much and am in awe of his gentleness with her. It's only with her. Everything and everyone else gets the rough boy treatment. She seems to enjoy him quite a bit too and looks around for him when he's out of sight.

There was a study done in Japan about exposing boys to very small children to encourage their nurturing side. (I read about it in the book Raising Cain) I love the idea. Society tends to discourage the idea of men possessing historically "feminine" qualities. I'm not down with that. I want my boy to be well rounded and that includes being able to emote and not prescribing to some machismo standard that society has set up.

Mia was terribly excited to see the veggie tray I brought with dipping sauce. Dipping is all the rage with the 18 month old set. She had a ball keeping up with her cousins.

Sister spent most of the time making new friends and developing a posse to help bury her in the sand. There's been lots of drama lately (mild) and today was no different.

I said "Smile, babe!" This is what she did.

Awesome.

Speaking of awesome....what's a Monday without a shot of double rat tails? Sweet!
