Reading the interview with Drew Barrymore in Vogue, I found out she'll be playing little Edie Beale in a new Grey Gardens movie. Intrigued, I started googling little Edie and her mother, Big Edie. (Big Edie is Jackie O's aunt)FREAKS! PARTY OF TWO! FREAKS!
I immediately put the Maysles documentary,Grey Gardens, and the follow up with leftover material, The Beales of Grey Gardens, at the top of my queue on Netflix. It's insanely fascinating. There's loads of stuff on YouTube to whet your appetite. It's awesome. I just can't look away. I found this article by Gail Sheehy from the 70s. And then this follow up after the show, Grey Gardens, started on Broadway with Christine Ebersole.
