A place of disorder and randomness, otherwise known as my life

Finn was running around with Hadley's fairy wings on last week and fell asleep on the couch while I was reading to him, still wearing the wings.

New Year's Eve at our "Fancy Dinner". We were all decked out, had linguine with clam sauce and then chocolate covered strawberries for dessert. Even the strawberries are decked out.  And no, I did not make those. (please.)

On a cute little train ride at an outdoor mall, right before Christmas.

HJ with her newly pierced ears. She's so big time. The mother of a girl in Hadley's class told me this caused some problems at her house with her daughter because the little girl wants HER ears pierced now. "Can I ask you why you did it?" she asked me one day. I wanted to laugh out loud. Why? Doesn't that seem like a funny question? I should have come up with a witty answer. Anyway, my deep and well researched answer was "She asked."

Getting your ears pierced is made into a big deal. It was a big deal when I was little and I still have no idea why. I had to wait until I was 12. My mom said she got her ears pierced in graduate school and my grandfather CRIED. I thought about making Hadley wait until she was 9 or 10 but why? For what? She is a responsible little human, and cleans her ears 3 times a day with the alcohol solution and is very concientious.

Now, lest you think I give this child everything she wants, she asks for a pet EVERY SINGLE DAY (a rat, snake, bird or turtle) and EVERY DAY I tell her we will TALK about it when she is 10.

This is the day we went ice skating downtown. So cute....Peter and I skated too and it was really fun. Peter, in true Peter form, claimed hadn't skated in a million years and then proceeded to turn into Wayne Gretzky.

Here they are at the puppet show we went to called Merry Chris Mouse, which turned out to be really cute. I made a note to get tickets to something else soon. They were completely enchanted by the entire theater experience, which I love of course. There were no cameras allowed so I could only snap this quick pic.

Oh, and last but not least, here's Mr. Pineapple lounging in front of the fire, contemplating life.
