A place of disorder and randomness, otherwise known as my life

Hadley and I went to see "A Taste of the Nutcracker" last night. Her BFF Sophie was a bon bon in the production, which was at the local high school.

Hadley was coming out of her skin, it was so cute. She was so thrilled for her friend. It was genuine too and made me so proud. There was no jealousy, which could have happened. She was just in awe and couldn't believe how cool it was that Sophie was in the show. We brought Sophie pink roses and Hadley said "You were really great, Sophie!" It was a proud moment as I want her to genuinely enjoy other's successes and not fuss and fret about them not being HER successes.

If you're familiar with the Nutcracker, you'll remember at the end of the party scene in the beginning of the play, the tiniest dancer comes to the front of the stage, yawns and falls asleep.

It's very precious and last night the crowd ''aww-ed" accordingly.

Out of the stillness and dark, Hadley says audibly, "Is she dead or sleeping, Mama?"

Awesome.
