32 Entropy Lane
A place of disorder and randomness, otherwise known as my life

We got another car and I'm so in love with her, you would think she's a member of the family. She's a silver 1988 Mercedes 560SEL. We've been needing a new car for a while and I was overwhelmed at the possibilities. They are freaking endless. Peter suggested I look at old Mercedes because of their safety and all of the good things he has heard about them. Our friend AXM is totally into old Mercedes (what the hell is the plural of Mercedes?) and knows everything. He guided us the whole way and we ended up buying the first one we saw, on Ebay! It was a local sale, so we drove her and checked out everything before we bid but the whole experience has just been lovely and personal. Not like the car lot nonsense. Puke.

I was nervous at first and we didn't get along the first week. I don't like change and was nervous about driving this boat. But she and I get along like peas and carrots now and I wouldn't trade her for the world. I also want to get a book and learn as much as I can. I was actually excited yesterday when I went to get the oil changed and the guys ooohed and ahhed about how clean the engine was and how good she looked. Uh huh.

The clock is my most favorite part. It's analog. I find that so charming. I love to look at it. When I'm alone in the car and the radio is off, I can hear the tick tick tick of the clock and it's like a metronome. I love it. That and the leather seats creaking. It bugged me in the beginning. I don't mind it now.

I'll post pics when I download them from camera. But that would involve getting off the couch.
