32 Entropy Lane
A place of disorder and randomness, otherwise known as my life

We just went on a hike on Tiger Mountain and I really tried to be present. It was all misty and Seattle-y and about to pour (which it is now) but the kids and I tromped around for an hour, looking and discovering. I didn't rush them or try to control anything. I just....was.

I feel productive and less lazy than I did this morning.

But then we went to Taco Bell, which is where the good mom part ends. The hilarious thing is Hadley doesn't like fast food. She doesn’t like any of it really and got really pissy when pulled up to TB drive thru. Finn is sort of indifferent and will pretty much eat what you put in front of him.  Then there’s me, who would've hiked another hour for a bean burrito. Mmmmmm… While I gobbled down my bean burrito and Finn ate his chicken quesadilla, Hadley daintily ate her sliced apple and yogurt.

Peter comes home at 5 from a business trip. I’m trying to make the house all nicey nice. Now I know why my mom did that kind of stuff for my Dad when he came home from a trip. I’d always say “Mom, it’s just Dad. You don't need to wash the sheets or clean the house or make a good dinner…”

I get it now. Love is in the details.
