EKD got engaged on Thursday. Squeals abound. I love that she was just in town here on biz a few weeks ago and we had a leisurely dinner at Melting Pot. Having just seen her makes the engagement news that much more exciting. She was happy and calm. Lovely things to witness in your friends. I also spent a good portion of the evening jealous of her fantastic hair.

Hearing the news also automatically brought back the feelings I remember from my own engagement. The word 'swoon' pretty much encapsulates it all. I remember feeling such a rush of joy that it took every thing I had not to push down strangers and tell them the good news. Not that I think marriage is the end-all-be-all. Different strokes for different folks. I just knew it was the perfect thing for us and Peter was the perfect thing for me.

PS- "swoon" pretty much explains my mother's day today too. I want to set yesterday on repeat and play it again and again...except I would like to omit the part from 2:30 to 3pm where Peter and I got in a fight about the whereabouts of the camera cable.

To all of the mothers out there, I hope you were properly feted and adored. And now to have piece #3 of the cake my darling little family made for me. Chocolate with buttercream. Mmmmmm.
