A place of disorder and randomness, otherwise known as my life

My friend Aimee reads this blog and I found myself captivated but it. The girl, Kelly, seems really lovely, creative, smart, funny etc. but more than anything I was struck by how positive she is. I poured through her blog soaking up the positive vibes and being inspired by her eternal cheeriness as well as her creative spirit. I miss that in myself and feel I haven't had it in a long time. Understandbly it's been difficult to find the cheer lately but I will find my way back to it slowly and in my own way. I know that's what my Dad would want for me. Sunday, my small step was to have that most wonderful sandwich and enjoy ever second of it and be present. Yesterday I had a most delicious coffee with HALF caffeine (thank you for the idea, Angie, since too much caf makes me insane) and met friends at a farm to romp in the sun and greet the new baby goats. The sun being out is a lovely comfort. It warms my heart and my face...even though I'm not supposed to be IN the sun. Damn you, Lupus.

Here's a quote from Andy Rooney that I had seen before but seeing it again just reminded me how much I like it and pertinent it feels to me right now:

"for most of life, nothing wonderful happens. if you don't enjoy getting up and working and finishing your work and sitting down to a meal with family or friends, then the chances are that you're not going to be very happy. if someone bases his happiness or unhappiness on major events like a great new job, huge amounts of money, a flawlessly happy marriage or a trip to paris, that person isn't going to be happy much of the time. if, on the other hand, happiness depends on a good breakfast, flowers in the yard, a drink or a nap, then we are more likely to live with quite a bit of happiness."

And finally, I got this email from the glorious MTC (initials have been changed to protect the innocent) and I laughed and laughed. A much needed bright spot:

"I got your lovely message from Thursday...I think you called while I was in the sex shop buying penis straws."

So funny...

E and B, I can't wait for Gaia.

EMP and Chickens, my heart will feel full when I am with you all again this weekend. And AOP, you bet your ass we're related. I wouldn't have it any other way.
