Why do I have to say "Wash your hands with soap, please?" It's so irritatingly redundant. As if there was any other way to wash your hands? I have learned there are several other ways. None of which do any good.
CTM did something called a "mud run" which sounds horrible but she looks like a bad ass in the pictures and I'm terribly proud of her for accomplishing it. She said it was really "fun". Hm. I told her we had to have different definitions of the word "fun". Big Ups to Clairey!
Halloween at Casa Provost turned out swell and relatively drama free. Hadley was Princess Ariel (that is not her hair. It is a nasty nasty wig that I insisted we tie back). FMP is Mickey Mouse. I did the requisite "stand there so I can take a picture" thing as only a mother can do and as you can see it quickly dissolved into chaos. They loved the trick or treat part, which was painfully cute. Hadley kept trying to take too much candy and Finn kept trying to go into the houses to check out their stuff.
Went to Fremont yesterday (yes, that's the sound of cheering you hear) to meet E, R, and A (ladies of the runway) at this show. It had glorious energy and I kept taking deep breaths in order to get as much of it as possible. Fun music (JT anyone?), funky wares, delicious people watching and just...flavor. I bought a shirt for Mia and Hadley from here and then I bought a super soft tee for myself. The girl in the pic is actually the girl that sold it to me. Funny. Anyway, after shopping, we got Thai food and then E and I went to the Cakeria for some to go slices. Oh...Cakeria. Sigh....I spent the entire deliciously rainy drive home talking to MMP and returned home rejuvenated. The rest of the evening was a blur as I was so focused on eating my cake that I couldn't see straight.
New Faves:
Kombucha Wonder Drink - Delicious little potable that I discovered recently. Mmmm...I like the Himalayan Blend.
Oil of Olay Regenerist Serum - I swear this has changed the texture of my skin. Nice.
EKD is in town on biz this week so tonight we're going out for dinner. Looking forward to it as she is full of energy and hilarity. Tomorrow night I'm going to Cactus with Taylor, which will be delightful as well. I love all of this going out business these few days. Been feeling pretty good too.
Peter and I celebrate our 6th anniversary this weekend (11/11) and I'm displaying major skills in the fabulous romantic department. I am still in shock that I have not blurted out the secret to him. (Which usually happens) I have informed him that I made plans and that is all. This is going to be really freaking good. More details to come.
It is super rainy here lately. And I know that sounds idiotic to people not from here as everyone thinks it rains and that is it but Seattleites know there are MANY varying degrees of "rainy".
