Peter has long been a fan of Dilbert. He sent me this post today from Scott Adam's blog (creator of Dilbert) and I found it really interesting. Purely from the standpoint of 'everyone has a story'. The guy lost his voice. Still he was/is positive. It is back now. For how long he doesn't know but I found it inspiring. Everyone has shit to deal with. Suck it up. Be positive. Make your own change. Don't be a victim. Look at all you have to be thankful for. I have this crappy ass disease but at least I can talk all the time reliably. Much to the chagrin of those around me after I've had a BIG ASS COFFEE like this morning. Chatty Cathy indeed.
I watched the Oprah/Madonna interview last night but couldn't watch all of it because a) her voice and accent are grating and hard to listen to and b) she wouldn't answer questions. Her answers had nothing to do with the question asked. I just fast forwarded through most of it. Although her new baby is cute as hell and I'm glad he'll have a good life. (Well, the term "good" is relative. The kid won't be allowed to watch TV after all.)
On the same episode were the Dixie Chicks talking about that god damn statement from 300 years ago. Natalie Maines said "I'm ashamed our President is from Texas." Who cares? Apparently, the entire world. That was and is such a puzzling thing to me. Who cares what some country singer says? The show had clips of people expressing their outrage. One man said "Dixie Chicks are entitled to Free Speech. Just not in Public."
Really, smartie? Nice.
I laughed too when Natalie Maines said that she thought it was funny how suddenly they were sluts too. "Making a comment about the President is one thing but how did we become slutty?" She said. Funny. I like her. She's got Moxie. I love their new album too.
Weeds continues to delight me and I'm a little sad that next week will be the finale. Sad sad sad. I just keep blurting out "Just because you're crazy and we're crazy does not make us family." (Nancy says this to Megan, Andy's crazy ex-girlfriend, when Megan says "But we're family.") So hilarious. Peter and I keep laughing at that one. And what about the naked guy riding a Segway caught on the camera Celia installed? HI-larious.
I just discovered that Reeba has returned to the blogosphere! Thank you for the heads up MMP & ELK.
