It was just us today celebrating Finn’s 2nd birthday and that was fine with me. Methotrexate had rendered me useless, which is the standard on most Saturdays so my energy was low but not so low as to not have cake. I’m not crazy.
Finn was delighted by his gifts and kept saying “WHOA! COOL! AWESOME!!”
Awesome? When did my baby start saying Awesome? Well it was actually more like “Hawesome”, which is even funnier.
We gave the boy this and he and sis played hoops until it was time to come in. I fear I’m raising a sporto. I suppose it’s fine to be a sporto, I just don’t want to raise a meathead. Of course, if he’s my darling Finn, will I know he’s a meathead. Surely. Right? Anyhoo…
This morning, while driving to swimming lessons, I said “Two years ago today, I had Finn. I gave birth to him, which is why they call it a birth day.”
“But Mom, I didn’t ask you why they call it a birthday.” Hadley says matter of factly from the backseat.
Oh.
Happy Birthday my most beautiful boy. There are no words for how much I love you.
