A place of disorder and randomness, otherwise known as my life

I’m going to make this quick. It’s late. I’m tired. But there are things that have to be said.

RE: America’s Next Top Model

I think Jade is hideous. End of story. She has no redeeming qualities, is 79 years old and will never be a model. I can just hear the producers though “She makes good TV!” That she does…

RE: American Idol

I was outraged by the ousting of Chris Daughtry. Wha?! It should have been Katherine.

I got a mani/pedi today and I was so engrossed in my magazine I didn’t notice the woman picked up the wrong polish to paint my toes. I looked up and saw the color. (which, incidentally, is hilariously named “I’m not really a waitress”) She was extremely apologetic and offered to change it but I had to run to catch my movie. Still though….every time I look at my toes I think of Christmas. They are the same color as a red shiny Christmas ornament.

I saw Friends with Money and loved it. I’ve heard mixed things about it from people but sort of knew what to expect because I had seen Walking and Talking and Lovely and Amazing by the same director, Nicole Holofcener, who wrote and directed all three. They all are slice of life pieces. Friends with Money was interesting because all of the characters are flawed and not terribly likeable. I really can’t explain why I liked it. I was delighted at the rebellious idea of going to a dark movie theater on a glorious Seattle day. I was the only one in the theater. I freaking love going to the movies. I also love calling Meggie to discuss things we have seen in depth. She’s good like that.

Thinking of Peter P this evening and wishing I knew how to speak Norwegian.
