Last weekend I was in bed the whole weekend. The. Whole. Weekend. It sucked. Lupus reared its ugly head and rendered me useless. Completely. After a few doc appointments this week, my doctor has to decided to put me back on Methotrexate. Joy. Injection once a week which I’ll do myself because I’m a little Drugstore Cowgirl. My sed rate is high, my white blood count is down. Blah blah blah. Something’s going on. She gave me copies of all of my tests to take the Gyno today. Yes, the gynecologist. Jealous, much? Blech. Have to get everything checked out as my ultrasound revealed that my right ovary is 3 times the size of my left. Nice. (insert sigh and eye roll here)
On the plus side though, she gave me the green light for a nose piercing. I have to do it before I start the Methotrexate next week though because you don’t heal well while taking that drug. I’ve abandoned the idea of a tattoo as I can’t think of anything I want on my body permanently. Plus, if I hate the the nose piercing, I can take it out. I think the RN mistook me asking for her medical opinion for me asking for her personal opinion because she started to give that. (Why would you want to get your nose pierced??) I just smiled and said something about a mid life crisis but what I thought was “Um, you’re wearing a dolphin around your neck. To each their own, friend.”
Densmore family gave Hadley live caterpillars for her birthday and today two of them turned into butterflies! It was such a wonderful, educational, fascinating thing. I highly recommend getting one for any budding entomologists. Hadley is obsessed. We all kind of are. I think we’ll get tadpoles next…
Here’s a Hadleyism from yesterday:
“Mom did you know there is a bird called ‘chew and swallow’?” Hadley yells from the back seat.
“What sweetie?” I say.
“Chew and swallow? No, just swallow and the other bird I was thinking of is a woodpecker. That’s right.”
