A place of disorder and randomness, otherwise known as my life

I refuse to delete the Arrested Development finale from our Tivo for no other reason than to hold on to the last vestige of what was a brilliantly brilliantly funny show. Today I watched the premiere of Sons and Daughters and saved it, not only for Peter to watch but so Arrested Development would have a friend. I think they will get along. Sons and Daughters was HILARIOUS. Seriously seriously funny. I can’t wait for next week. Part of it is improv, which is stunning considering it is so seamless and no one busted up laughing. Check it out.

I watched it with Erin D. today while Finn slept and Hadley played around us. EKD is in town on biz and we got to hang out last night and today. We went to Pomegranate last night, which did not disappoint. Chocolate soup, anyone? A little demi tasse filled with luscious dark, hot, liquid chocolate and comes with two homemade nutter butters to dip in it. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

Anyway, it was grand to see Erin and reconnect. We were going to do the lady lunch thing today and get pedicures too but Taylor didn’t work today so we slummed it with the kiddos. Erin was treated to a glamorous tour of the Safeway, bagels at home with the blue eyed devils, and then a riveting demonstration of me making Chicken and Dumplings in the crock pot for dinner. Poor dear. When the kids were being…well, kids, she would just laugh and say “How do you do this?” The funny thing is H & F were both freaking angels.

Michelle Williams and Heath Ledger are so cute. They really are. They best be careful though because a little more exposure and they could really get on my freaking nerves. You’re cute and in love. We get it. Now go move to Ohio and hide out for a while.

While I’m on the subject of celebs, let’s discuss Reese Witherspoon, whom I adore and think is the cutest thing ever with great style and a wonderful air about her. However, is it just me or did she just get a HELL of a lot more Southern after the release of Walk the Line? All of the sudden, she’s like “Well, shoot, y’all know I’m a Southern girl! Ah mean, gosh darnit! Hoooo weeee!” It just seems a little Hee Haw to me.

I’m still desperate for a tattoo and I’ve added wanting a nose piercing to the list too. I know I know…(Keep breathing Rog and Ellen…I can hear your gasp from here) I don’t know if I’ll do it. I want to. I equate it to a middle aged man buying a sports car perhaps. I need something to free my creative spirit. It has felt muffled since we moved to Suburbia, or as I like to call it “The Place Where Souls Go to Die” I need some flavor.

I think I will be trying acupuncture soon. All of the research that I’ve done says Lupus/Fibromyalgia patients have had some success with it and I’m willing to try anything. My back is particularly bad lately. It creeps up on me around 4pm. All of the stresses of the day slowly accumulate on my shoulders and back and by the end of the day, not only am I exhausted but I feel like someone is standing on my shoulders and my skin is sensitive to the touch. Noise hurts. Having said that I’m in good spirits and life is good, great actually. It’s weird. I can hear sweet Peter playing downstairs with the wee ones and I’m smiling. I just wish my body would smile too.
