A place of disorder and randomness, otherwise known as my life

Hadley likes to play this game where she’s Mama and I’m Hadley.  We’re playing and she says from the other room ‘Hadley, you better come in here, your baby Maggie is squeaking out!”

I walked into the room and she was making her baby thrash about. It finally clicked. “Did you mean freaking out?”

“Yeah, your baby is freaking out, Mom.”

That cracked me up. Hearing her regurgitate words that I use is so funny to me.

We had a gymnastics make up class this morning, which is always entertaining. I actually chatted up a nice gal with two little girls. It’s always nice to meet a normal mom. You meet so many freaks. Speaking of…I was chatting with one woman and she was ooohing and ahhing over her own child. It was weird. Everything he did she would oooh and ahhh…like a stranger would. Weird. Anyway, to make small talk I said he was cute and my, what beautiful curls. She commented about how they were so hard to cut off. I smiled and told her I related as we had just buzzed our dear Finn’s darling curls. Cut to 20 minutes later I see her fetching her older child out of the gymnastics class. He had a ponytail to the middle of his back. Oh yes, a big curly, long ponytail. Nice. She wasn’t kidding about not being able to cut off the curls. Other highlights of the class were that I overheard the misuse of a few words: vibe, and especially. One woman said “I just got a really good “vive”. Not vibe. VIVE. Hmm…Moving on…the other one I heard is an age old classic. “I just hate it when she doesn’t take a nap. Expecially before gymnastics.” I smiled to myself as if recognizing an old friend. Good old “Expecially”. A time honored horrible horrible mispronunciation.

I got A Million Little Pieces from the library last night and am anxious to start it. I’m trying to plow through this book on Fibromyalgia I picked up first though. (It literally is called Fibromyalgia for Dummies. Trying to keep it simple, people) The doc suspects I have it and I do too at this point. It can’t hurt to be more educated. She is prescribing sleeps meds and wants me to stay on the CellCept as the ramp up time is 3 months and it has only been one. Interestingly, if I do have Fibromyalgia, there really isn’t anything she can do other than write it down. Sigh….

Now on to more exciting topics. I am a busy girl with TV this season. There is so much to watch:

America’s Next Top Model – This is the BEST show. It appeals to the girl in all of us who secretly wants to be a model. But judging from this years contestants apparently I’m not freakishly ugly enough to be one on ANTM. I recently discovered that there was a girl who has Lupus (Mercedes) on Season 2 and now I’m desperate to find that season so I can watch the entire one. I don’t know what rock I was living under that I missed it.

House – Hugh Laurie is the best. I do however get annoyed with his cranky gimp routine from time to time but then the annoyance dissipates and I find myself charmed by him once again.

The Biggest Loser – I love it! I loved it last season too. Peter and I lay in bed last night rooting them on, allthewhile a batch of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies sat in between us , which we found hysterically ironic. We ate a bunch of them, allthewhile cheering on the fatties. It really is so inspirational. The woman kind of suck this season but the men are the cutest. There is one man was talking to his wife on the phone and just kept calling her Bubba. It was the cutest thing ever. I kept grabbing Peter’s arm and squeezing it. Aw..Bubba. That’s what I call Finn.

CSI – Standard. Great Show.

Weeds – Peter and I are way behind but it is still one of my faves this season. (Big ups to Brad “Blockbuster” Wilson)

Arrested Development – Another Standard. Must Watch. Buster with his hook hand. Need I say more?

The O.C. – LOVE this show. Total addict. I watch it every Friday after dropping HJ off at preschool. I come home, put Finn down for a nap and get back into bed to enjoy the deliciousness. Can’t you just hear the theme song?

Everybody Hates Chris – Anything with Chris Rock in charge creatively is going to be funny. PLUS he’s narrating. This is going to be big. HUGE. Very funny and sweet show.

My Name is Earl – I love this one too. My entire family LOVES Raising Arizona and this show has that magic “white trash with charm” thing going on.

Lost – of course. I would like to publicly thank Aaron Mikulich for getting us hooked on this show. We still haven’t watched the premiere. So much TV, so little time. Thank God for TiVo.

Let’s see…oh, there’s more. Pull up a lawn chair…Oprah, (of course of course…)My Fair Brady, The Surreal Life, The Real World, Girls Next Door, Filthy Rich: Cattle Drive (Or as I call it The Fabian Basabe Show…HE SUCKS)Ummmmmmm…I think that’s it. For those of you who say I watch too much TV, I will smile sweetly and say “Fuck You.” Some of these shows are 30 minutes long, which really means 27 and without commercials means about 20 minutes! That’s nothing. Me picking up the living room and folding a basket of laundry is 20 minutes.

Hadley is wanting to play babies. She has 4 babies crammed into a shopping cart and claims she needs me to help. She is also singing “It’s a Hard Knock Life” from ANNIE. Except her lyrics are “In the Heart of Life for us…In the Heart of Life for us”…it’s hysterical.
